I awoke to the sweet sound of the ocean. It was race day and as fate would have it, I was skipper once again. My crew was ready and excited for the start as we sailed circles around the Bight. Tension was high as we lined up next to the other eight boats. As soon as the race started, our jib flew up like a bolt of lightning from Zeus. Everything was going smoothly as I fought the vicious sea until out of nowhere, the big blue hit me with a cheap shot. The gust of wind hit us hard and caused our steering to break. Julia and I used autopilot and the emergency tiller to expertly navigate us back to West End. It was a fun race but it ended shortly in disappointment. My crew and I went onto shore and admitted our defeat honorably to the vast blue ocean.
