Location: Quito to Baltra to Santa Cruz, Galapagos
We had to wake up extra early today to catch our flight to the Galapagos Islands. There was a total of two flights we had to take before we could finally set foot on the Galapagos. Once we arrived on the island, we set took a ferry and two buses to get to the boat we are going to be staying on, the Amigo. We were told the guidelines of the boat and Galapagos.
Once we were finished with orientation, our adventures on the Galapagos began. We visited the Darwin Research Center, the home of Lonesome George and many other unique turtles. First we saw baby turtles, they were so tiny and cute. We stopped by Lonesome George's cage, but he was hiding from our many pictures. However, we did see the two females living with him. After we visited the hiding George, we walked through the area of the females. They were quite large. We visited the males next. Two of the males were fighting over the water hole. It was really funny to watch, from a distance! Along the paths we encountered two sleeping turtles. They didn't wake up for anything, not that we tried to wake them. Next we saw big orange and yellow iguanas. When our tour of the Darwin Research Center we were allowed a couple of hours to shop in the streets of the down town. We returned and had a good dinner to complete an awesome day!!
