Adios Amigo

It's the last half day on the boat. We were told to have everything ready at 6:00 AM and would land in the island. There were a lot of sea lion babies lying on the beach, iguanas relaxing on the rocks, and blue-footed boobies dancing and building their nests. The interesting thing we learned was that the boobies poo around themselves on purpose. They do it to claim their territores and to kill the bacteria. Then after a short break on the boat, we took our packing stuffs and farewelled to the boat that we stayed on for 5 precious days.

After waiting for so long, there came our first community service afternoon working with the turtles. We were so excited that this was exactly what we wanted when we were visiting the turtles from the outside.

We were assigned to clean the turtle poos in the water pool, pick up the leaves and sticks in the cage, sweep the pathway, and move the turtles to the safe place. Lawson, Christine, Rachel, and I were in the group of washing the pools out. It was such a small poll but it took us a couple of hours to wash them off. Although it was pretty hard, especially in such a hot afternoon, we were enjoying it. It was absolutely the most interesting community service I have ever done.

p.s. The meals were still so delicious as usual.
